The St. Petersburg based young Russian artist works on paintings, sculptures, and installations, creates surrealistically altered elements and characters between figurative and abstract. He’s painting are well known by the technique so-called leaking painting, which he mostly using at the contour of the portrait silhouettes.

The show, which is curated by the owner of Alvitr Gallery (Yekaterinburg) Marina Alvitr, investigates the Russian cosmism theory started by Nikolay Fedorov and shows how it has influenced the condition of contemporary Russia. The belief in the potential lying in the immortality and the resurrection of the past to conquer the universe became popular in the early 20th century. This idea has been transforming for the whole of the 20th century until the present day. In his project, Ivan Plusch investigates feelings triggered by the collapse of ideals through the films of Andrey Tarkovsky, and expresses them with the help of the artificial carnival aesthetic characteristic of the plays of Robert Wilson.
