15.30  "Museum on Wheels" - Oldtimer car show in the Lions' Courtyard. Joint program of the Castle Museum and the Budapest Classic Grand Prix.   
Participants of the Budapest Classic Grand Prix car tour ride in front of the Budapest History Museum in the Lions' Courtyard of the Royal Palace of Buda. Visitors can get acquainted with more than eighty old and youngtimer cars from a 1923 Salmson VAL 3 to a 1962 Jaguar and a 2019 Mercedes Benz, as well as exciting moments from the history of Budapest's transportation. "Museum on Wheels" is a real treat for the lovers of history and cars.    

16.00   Maszk Puppet Theater: The Silly Jester of King Matthias [HUN]
This charming puppet show with lots of music, spectacular marionettes, great actors and shadow play is about the fair king of fairy tales as well as the everyday man seeking truth. The program is recommended primarily for middle schoolers.

21.00    Jazz in the Castle: the concert of Valami swing
Valami swing – hot jazz & cool swing. Valami swing traces the steps of Django Reinhardt, but also trespass as they can into unknown territories to solve the dark secrets of jazz. The instrumental band of a jazz guitar, manouche guitar, clarinet and double bass plays old and new jazz, gypsy jazz, swing, and balkan tunes. Based on improvisation, they are to surprise you at every event. During the Night of Museums at the event of the Castle Museum they also feature their own singer as well as a guest drummer.

  • CHILDREN’S ticket: 800 HUF (valid between the age of 6 and 18)
  • Admission is free for children under the age of 6.
  • Pensioners' discount is not applicable. 

Please bear in mind that the elevator of the National Széchényi Library (between Palota út and the Lions' Courtyard) operates only until 6.30 pm.
