Conference and workshop in the Castle Museum

2020.01.27.

Although the Castle Museum of the Budapest History Museum is closed to visitors due to reconstruction works in the former royal palace, the museum hosted a professional event this Monday. The Museum Education and Methodology Center of the Hungarian Open Air Museum (MOKK) has held its third annual conference and workshop, entitled 'The name of our craft: museum' on 27 January in our Baroque Hall.

The event started with a welcome speech by Noémi Népessy, Director General of the Budapest History Museum. Participants then have each given a presentation on the currently available trainings of MOKK, followed by a roundtable discussion on the topic 'Preparing for the coordination of scientific work and managerial approach with the help of professional trainings'. Moderated by Noémi Népessy, she has emphasized that such trainings are very important for colleagues because they can gain insight into the work of other employees, thus facilitating collaboration.

In the afternoon, guests could participate in World Café discussions and share their suggestions on the content of various trainings.

At the end of the day, participants had a chance to view two exhibitions of the Castle Museum with guided tours, and to listen to a brief presentation about one of the museum educational programs.

In keeping with tradition, the discussions and workshops were also complemented by a fair.
