Lend your your Giro d'Italia memorabilia to our exhibition!

2020.02.03.

To celebrate the "grande partenza" of the Giro d'Italia 2020 in Budapest, the Budapest History Museum is organizing a large-scale temporary exhibition on the history of Giro and Hungarian road cycling. The museum is asking cycling enthusiasts to loan memorabilia related to the Giro or the Tour de Hongrie for the upcoming exhibition, as well as sharing their personal stories about either of the competitions.

Have you ever been to the Giro or the Tour de Hongrie? Did you snatch Nibali's discarded water bottle, or do you have a signed photo from Chris Froome? Would you be open to share your treasured cycling relics with others?

Opening around 18 April 2020, the Budapest History Museum is organizing a large-scale temporary exhibition on the history of the Giro and Hungarian road cycling in connection with the Hungarian start of Giro d'Italia. In addition to relics from the Bicycle Museum in Ghisallo, Italy, the exhibition will also feature items from Hungarian collectors. Furthermore, we would like to involve the Hungarian cycling community in the exhibition, so we are looking forward to loaning anything related to the Giro and the Tour de Hongrie. The names of the owners will be appear next to the exhibited objects. Loans are expected until 20 February 2020.

The owners of the exhibited items will be provided with a museum ticket for 2 persons. Three of the loaners will receive a copy of the exhibition catalog - winners will be selected at random.
