Entry to the Castle Museum during the Festival of Crafts

During the Festival of Crafts, between 20-23 August 2020, the Castle Museum will be open in regular hours from 10am to 6pm. Visitors may enter the museum by purchasing a regular ticket. On the national holiday of 20 August, the museum can be visited free of charge.



Due to the pandemic situation, the Festival of Crafts, taking place in the courtyards of the Buda Castle, is undergoing significant changes: the crafts activities and the fair are canceled, but the audience is welcome to watch free performances in the Lions' Courtyard, for which registration is required. Unlike previous years, visitors need not purchase a festival wristband to enter the Castle Museum.

During the Festival of Crafts, the Castle Museum can be visited in regular opening hours, from 10 am to 6 pm. Visitors may enter the museum by purchasing a regular ticket, except on Thursday, 20 August when the Castle Museum - together with other member institutions of the Budapest History Museum - can be visited free of charge on the occasion of the national holiday.

The registration for the programs of the Festival of Crafts does not apply to visitors of the Castle Museum. The organizers of the festival shall provide free passage to the entrance of our museum at the gate of the Lions' Courtyard.
