The original main entrance of the Castle Museum has reopened

2021.08.20.

On 20 August 2021, after nearly two years of closure, our original main entrance in the Lions' Courtyard will reopen. The Bronze Gate, used during the construction as a temporary entrance, will now serve as the museum's service entrance.

After the completion of the construction of the southern connecting wing of the palace, visitors can once again enter the Castle Museum of the Budapest History Museum through the main entrance.

With the opening of St Stephen's Hall in the renovated palace wing, we are also expanding the range of tickets. You can find more information on our website regarding these changes. If you want to learn more about visiting St Stephen's Hall, please visit www.szentistvanterem.hu.

Our opening hours remain unchanged. The museum is open from Tuesday to Sunday from 10 am to 6 pm.

Information on traffic restrictions due to construction works or events in the Castle District, as well as occasional changes in the opening hours will be posted here and on our Facebook page.
