The museum education program of the Imre Varga Collection has been nominated to the Highlights of Hungary Award.

In remembrance of the siege of Budapest in World War II, the Budapest History Museum offers a series on how the then-colleagues of the museum remember the harsh and tragic winter of 1944-1945.

The Graphics Collection of the Kiscell Museum - Municipal Gallery will be closed from 1 November 2020 to 30 June 2021 due to revision.

In the first month of autumn we are opening a number of exciting new temporary exhibitions. The two new projects of the Budapest Gallery are organized around the themes of light, movement and illusion, while the Aquincum Museum commemorates the archaeologist Gyula Hajnóczi, who was born 100 years ago.

During the Festival of Crafts, between 20-23 August 2020, the Castle Museum will be open in regular hours from 10am to 6pm. Visitors may enter the museum by purchasing a regular ticket. On the national holiday of 20 August, the museum can be visited free of charge.

Consisting of 12 members covering all of our member institutions and departments, a Strategic Coordination Cabinet was formed at the Budapest History Museum in February 2020. Now you can look behind the scenes of their workshops and discover what they achieved in the past months.

Known for its unmistakably nostalgic yet fresh and young atmosphere, Óbuda is hosting a "cultural night marathon" on 1 August from 4pm to midnight. Three of our member institutions, the Aquincum Museum, the Budapest Gallery and the Kiscell Museum welcome visitors on this evening with a wide range of exciting programs.
