Noémi Népessy is the new Director General of the Budapest History Museum

As per the decision of the Budapest City Council, the Director of the Óbuda Museum, Noémi Népessy was appointed as the new Director General of the Budapest History Museum from 1 April 2019. The colleagues of the four member institutions of the Budapest History Museum – namely, the Castle Museum, the Aquincum Museum, the Kiscell Museum - Municipal Gallery, and the Budapest Gallery – welcomed the new Director General yesterday at a general assembly.

King Matthias's fountain in Florence

Organized as a part of the year's programs commemorating the 500th anniversary of Leonardo's death, the exhibition 'Verrocchio, il maestro di Leonardo' opened on 9 March 2019 at the Palazzo Strozzi and the Bargello in Florence. Among the many valuable objects, three pieces were lent by the Budapest History Museum and the Museum of Fine Arts – Hungarian National Gallery for the first retrospective of the Renaissance master's works.
