Information for your visit

Rules for your visit at the member institutions of the Budapest History Museum

For the health and safety of visitors and museum staff, we kindly ask you to:

  • use the contactless hand sanitiser dispenser as you enter;
  • if possible, wear a face mask indoors (if needed, a mask can be provided);
  • if there is a visitor at the cashier’s desk, please wait outside the ticket office;
  • if possible, pay by contactless payment methods, or purchase your ticket online;
  • keep a distance of 1.5 meters during your visit with other visitors.

Tuesday–Sunday 10:00–18:00 

The museum is closed on Mondays.

Due to the reconstruction works of the historical Saint Stephen's Hall in the Palace, two of our permanent exhibitions ('The Royal Palace - The Castle of Culture' and 'Ancient Peoples, Antique Cultures') are temporarily closed to visitors.

From 17 January 2020, reduced ticket prices are applicable.
